LOG YOUR CALL: Tell Your Ohio Representative To Protect Voting and Vote No on SB293

On Tuesday, November 18, the Ohio House General Government Committee held a first and only hearing on Senate Bill 293 (SB293)—a bill originally aimed at closing the four-day post election period for accepting mailed ballots. At the hearing, the already bad bill was quickly amended to include 59 new pages of changes related to voter registration, citizenship verification and election administration provisions.

Voting rights advocates explained how the bill would harm Ohio voters and Ohio elections, but the committee quickly passed the bill along party lines anyway!

Call your Ohio Representative before the full session of the Ohio House on Wednesday at 2pm and tell them: “Stop messing with Ohio’s Elections - Vote ‘No’ on Senate Bill 293.”

You can look up your Ohio Representative HERE. Hopefully, you will have the opportunity to talk to an aide but it is fine to leave a voicemail message.

Here’s an idea of what to say: “My name is [Your Name] and I live in [Your Town]. I urge you to vote ‘No’ on Senate Bill 293 and stop the attack on an accessible form of voting so many Ohioans have come to trust and use.”
