I’m calling today to ask Sen [name of senator] to support and co-sponsor SB 222. (The Legislative and Congressional Redistricting Act—LACRA). This bill does not change WHO draws the maps, but it does change HOW the maps are drawn by enforcing strict transparency and criteria measures for both state and congressional maps. I want districts that reflect the will of voters. We can get fair districts with a more transparent process, public engagement and clear, measurable map-drawing standards. LACRA has all three. Please co-sponsor and support LACRA (SB 222) and ask the state government committee chair to allow a vote on the bill.
