Mark the Million: An Open Mic Memorial for the (known) Million COVID deaths in the USA
President Biden has delivered pre-recorded remarks to acknowledge the 1 million deaths in the US to Covid-19 and ordered flags to be flown at half-mast for 5-days, ending on Monday, May 16. We also expect the official CDC counter to reach one million in the coming days.

Marked By Covid will convene an ad hoc virtual vigil to Mark the Million. Community members who lost loved ones to the pandemic felt that the most meaningful way to recognize this haunting milestone would be to unite as mourners and rememberers.
Together, the Marked By Covid community extends a heartfelt invitation to anyone who has lost a loved one to Covid to participate by listening, watching, or speaking. All others are invited to join us to bear witness, vigil-keep, honor the dead, support the living, and grieve for our collective losses.
