Membership Invitation

Eligibility
Any person who identifies as a Mt. Airy resident, is registered to vote as a Democrat, and supports the mission of the Mt. Airy Democrats is eligible for membership.

Mission
To strengthen and energize the Democratic Party by empowering our Northwest Philadelphia neighbors through voter engagement, registration, and turnout in support of progressive candidates while promoting transparency, accountability, and democracy.
The Goals of the Mt. Airy Democrats are to:
  1. Bring together civic-minded people of Mt. Airy to increase social connection, participation in, and understanding of the electoral process;
  2. Introduce candidates for office to our members and to the general public;
  3. Support the election of progressive candidates in the primary and in the general elections; and
  4. Support open and democratically run ward organizations.
The Benefits of Membership in the Mt. Airy Democrats:
  1. Opportunities to partner with like-minded Democrats in working to increase voter turnout;
  2. A more complete understanding of the qualifications of candidates for office;
  3. Invitations to volunteer for voter registration, phone banking, canvassing, and fundraising;
  4. Voting at all membership meetings including for candidates for the Steering Committee; and
  5. Voting to endorse candidates for office.
Membership Requirements (one or both)
  1. Pay annual membership dues of $25 and/or regularly contribute any amount on a monthly basis.
  2. Provide volunteer work for the organization such as voter registration efforts, phone banking, canvassing, fundraising over the previous year and/or pledge to provide such work in the future.
