Mental Health Inquiry

In 2018, the Government will run an independent inquiry into our mental health crisis.

Our vision is an independent inquiry that puts the voices of people using mental health services and families bereaved by suicide at the forefront. An inquiry that protects the voices of people working in mental health to speak out.

Inquiries are rarely successful with communities actively organising to ensure voices that aren't often heard, are. Many will be suspicious or fear they'll be ignored, again. Building momentum will build confidence. We've done it before. It's how we made mental health a key election issue.

We need to build enough pressure to ensure the Government funds what the inquiry identifies as needed. We need to get buy-in to ensure any outcomes are permanent, and not confined to an election cycle.

Many forget, or don't know that the famous Mason Report into mental health services in the 90's was quickly ignored and forgotten. We won't let that happen again.

Help us make this once-in-a-life-time opportunity result in lasting change.
