Met Union Support Card
Dear Colleagues,
After hundreds of substantive conversations with staff throughout the Met, we are pleased to announce that we are taking steps to form a union with UAW Local 2110. We join our colleagues at many other fine art museums in building a more equitable and sustainable workplace for the good of our coworkers and collections.
Our Met Union will bring together staff from across the Museum—educators, conservators, front line staff, curators, designers, fundraisers, collections and administrative staff, and all others not currently in a union. By unionizing, we will gain the legal right to collectively bargain over our terms of employment and the power to ensure that our voice is heard.
We love our work at the Met and are deeply invested in the Museum’s future. Together, we seek job security, fair compensation, and workplace rights in order to strengthen the Museum and make it a better workplace for current and future staff.
