Yemen's Iranian-backed Houthi rebels began attacking shipping vessels in the Red Sea in October to protest the war in Gaza. The U.S. and its allies started launching airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen with the goal of putting an end to the shipping attacks.

On Jan. 28, three American service members were killed and dozens more were injured in an unmanned aerial drone attack launched by Iranian-backed proxies on a base in Jordan. The strike was an escalation that continues to raise the risk of Israel's war against Iranian-backed Hamas in Gaza erupting into a broader regional conflict.

MAGA Republicans are making tensions worse and calling on the Biden administration to take action that would result in a direct war with Iran.

Instead of working to de-escalate tensions, MAGA leaders are calling for American-led military strikes on Iran.

And just to make sure it’s clear that war with Iran is the goal, Senators like John Cornyn are explicitly calling for bombing the Iranian capital of Tehran.

This reckless rhetoric puts every American in danger. The world will not be safer if America escalates tensions further by the war in the middle east to include direct attacks inside Iran.
