Nominate Someone to Run for Climate | February 2026

Lead Locally is excited to offer our flagship Run for Climate training series for climate leaders that are interested in running for office, staffing a campaign, or getting more involved in electoral politics as a volunteer in February and March 2026!

Do you have any friends or neighbors that you think should run for office – or are interested in running winning electoral campaigns? This training is for anyone who wants to level up their electoral organizing skills, whether they are already running for office or considering doing so, or want to support or staff climate candidates' campaigns.

Complete the short form on this page to nominate someone for the training! Once you submit the form, we'll follow up with the person you submitted to make sure they have all the info about the training. Feel free to submit this form multiple times to nominate more than one person (there's no limit!).

This is a free, virtual training that runs for six consecutive weeks on Tuesdays from February 3 through March 10 at 6-8pm ET / 5-7pm CT / 4-6pm MT / 3-5pm PT. During the trainings, we’ll cover the mechanics of planning and executing an election campaign, as well as climate messaging and the opportunities to pass local climate policy. We'll also have opportunities to discuss our learnings with local elected officials from across the country. Sessions will include:

  • Building your base and setting up your get-out-the-vote strategy

  • Voter contact methods backed by research

  • Fundraising, social media, campaign tech, and much more!

Interested in attending the training yourself? Fill out our short application at this link!

If you have any questions about the training or nomination process, please reach out to us at sulakshana@leadlocally.org.
