We are a broad coalition of local residents, activists, human rights and aid groups, houses of worship, families, and individuals from Warren, Sussex, Morris and Hunterdon Counties, who quickly came together after learning that ICE plans to build a detention center in Roxbury, NJ.

When this plan became public, we organized quickly. Within days, local residents, Visibility Brigades, and community groups held a protest that drew congressional candidates, reporters, and statewide attention. Coverage followed in New Jersey media, The Washington Post, and on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

We are the No Ice North Jersey Alliance (or Project NINJA).
