While much of the attention about Tehan’s announcement has focussed on the massive hike in fees for Arts and Humanities Degrees, the other big element is a decline in government funding per student across the board. This means that Tehan’s proposed changes will affect all university staff.

If implemented, these changes will inevitably lead to restructuring, workload intensification and a loss of job security across the sector.
