UMAW NYC is a multi-racial, multi-gender, multi-genre, multi-disciplinary group of musicians and allied workers building power in the New York arts scene and beyond. Our aim is to organize and empower music workers in the struggle for fair treatment, equitable pay, and better protections in New York State. We will help to ensure safer physical spaces, protect worker’s rights and improve working conditions at venues, studios, rehearsal spaces & beyond, and secure safe space tenant’s rights.
