Oregon Parents Against PFAS: Protecting Our Kids, Communities, and Future

Our kids deserve clean water, safe schools, and public money that works for them — not for polluters.

Across Oregon, PFAS “forever chemicals” — the same substances linked to cancer, reproductive harm, and developmental issues — are showing up in our water, our soil, and even our public schools.

And here’s what’s even more alarming: the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) — which manages billions in public funds, including for school employees — uses a lobbying firm that also represents the Koch Companies, HF Sinclair (a fossil fuel company suing Oregon over its climate laws), and the pro-PFAS American Coatings Association.

That means Oregon’s own retirement fund is paying a firm that lobbies for industries poisoning our children’s learning environments and futures.

We think that’s unacceptable.

That’s why we’re organizing Oregon Parents Against PFAS — a growing network of parents, grandparents, caregivers, educators, and advocates demanding:

  1. Safe drinking water and strong PFAS regulations
  2. Transparency and accountability from public agencies and lobbyists
  3. Investments that reflect Oregon’s values — not corporate pollution
