Our Schools Our Democracy (OSOD) was established to restore Texas democracy and protect the fundamental rights of all Texans to a free, quality public education through research, education, outreach, and advocacy. Stand with us if you agree:

• We believe in neighborhood schools overseen by school board members who have roots in their local community and are democratically elected and accountable to voters.
• We believe all students deserve a free, quality education.
• We believe charter schools should be held to the same high standards as public school districts.
• We oppose the unlimited expansion of charter schools.
• We believe charter schools are a dire threat to public education as a democratic value because of their lack of accountability and transparency to the public and their financial impact on local public schools.
