Participate in the Public Power Campaign!

The Public Power Town Hall was a tremendous success, bringing together over 70 attendees passionate about a just renewable energy transition. With participation from key labor and community leaders, including representatives from Public Citizen, AFSCME, IBEW, and the Workers Defense Action, the discussion highlighted the intersection of climate action and workers’ rights. At least 17 rank-and-file union members attended, sparking conversations about the future of labor and renewable energy in Austin.

The event generated tangible action: 154 letters were sent to the Mayor and City Council advocating for public power, 10 volunteers signed up to support Mike Siegel's City Council campaign, and multiple attendees expressed interest in joining unions and the DSA. Events like this one gives me hope that we will beat capitalism's Climate Crisis!

We need your help to do the next step, shortly after the election its expected that city council will try to pass the gas plant. We need to be on top of this to stop it.
