PLEDGE TO VOTE FOR DEVIN BARRINGTON-WARD
Devin Barrington-Ward is running for Atlanta City Council, District 9 to create more just and equitable Atlanta. Endorsed by the Georgia Working Families Party, he believes that when we organize, we can build communities where everyone can thrive.
For too long Atlanta has been run by corporate Democrats who put profit over people. Instead of being the change we demand, they are indifferent to the needs of everyday people, developing our cities without care for everyday people. A wealthy few thrives, but we are left behind.
Devin Barrington-Ward is the progressive change we need. He is a community organizer, a public health advocate, and a champion fighting for everyday people. He has been fighting for change within local, state, and national government for the past fifteen years.
When elected, Devin will fight for:
- Housing with dignity including, a moratorium on evictions, rent control policies that limit rent increases, capping property-tax rates for homeowners who are moderate or low income, and investing initiatives for unhoused people to ensure they have shelter, pathways to employment, nutritional food & access to care.
- Public safety that centers the needs of the community and discourages over-policing by decriminalizing city code, and investing in alternatives to policing like pre-arrest diversion referrals and 311 service, and reducing the scope of police work, like “quality of life” policing.
- Infrastructure to promote the health and wellness of all citizens, including increased funding and resources for HIV prevention services, and harm reduction programming to people who use drugs and inject drugs.
The time for change is now. Election Day is Tuesday, November 2. Sign up and pledge to vote for Devin today.
