Over 46 million Americans are living with a total of nearly $1.8 trillion in student loan debt. This is an economic justice crisis. Now is the time to cancel student debt– all of it.

Student loan relief is an investment in the American people and a solution for our nation’s economic crisis. Now is the time for President Biden to prioritize the well-being of our students, rather than provide tax breaks for the wealthy. Canceling student debt and lessening this heavy burden for millions of Americans can be accomplished without a penny taken from the Treasury or a dollar added to the national debt.

Education is operating on structural inequities in the United States. A degree should not be inaccessible to anyone because of economic status. Students should not be signing on to decades of debt when they seek higher education. The American people deserve to have the crushing weight of student loan debts lifted from their shoulders.
