The purpose of this form is to gather all individuals interested in participating in the 2024 Pride Youngstown Pageant: Time for Pride on Friday, May 24th at Penguin City Brewing Company at 8 PM.

This year's pageant's theme is Time for Pride and will consist of four categories: Presentation, Talent, Question & Answer, and Time for Pride Formal Wear. Drag performers are encouraged to compete, but this pageant is not limited to only drag performances, but all who would want to participate. Participants must be 21 or older to compete and all gender expressions are welcome to participate. It is not a requirement to live within the city limits of Youngstown, but all participants must be an active member of the community or work in Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley (this includes performing at venues in the area).

The winner of the 2024 Pride Youngstown Pageant: Time for Pride will act as Grand Marshall of the Pride Youngstown Parade and will win a individual photo shoot within a year of the Pageant's end, the opportunity to host/book three events with Youngstown Queer Talent, and a cash prize of $300. More prizes and opportunities may become available but are not guaranteed/confirmed at this time.

This is not the official Pride Youngstown Pageant Packet. Completing this form does not confirm registration to the pageant itself. The full packet with exact rules, theme descriptions, and needed paperwork will be sent to individuals after completing this form. If you do not receive the packet within 48 hours of signing up, please contact theprideyoungstown@gmail.com. To confirm registration, each interested individual will need to complete all paperwork attached in the official packet and pay an entrance fee of $30.

Presentation: "Show Your Pride" - ensemble must include/incorporate a pride flag. The pride flag(s) chosen must be a part of each contestant’s outfit and can be represented by color scheme, print, or any other means that is a clear representation of the flag chosen. Any pride flag that is offensive or is intentionally exclusive (ex. Lipstick Lesbian pride flag) will not be permitted in the category.

Talent: Talent may be of any form of entertainment as long as it does not create any danger to the contestants, the staff, or audience members. The time limit for all talent presentations is seven (7) minutes with three (3) minutes allotted for set-up/take down of props

Question & Answer: Each participant will be asked a question during their Time for Pride Formal Wear presentation. Contestants may be asked a variety of questions ranging from current events, social issues, community involvement and leadership, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Time for Pride Formal Wear: Participants will present formal wear that must include or incorporate the theme of "Time". This can include, but is not limited to time pieces such as watches, clocks, calendars or a creative interpretation through fabric of time passing. We encourage creative realizations of typical formal wear that may include but are not limited to gowns and tuxedos. Formal wear will not be limited by garment type and contestants are not limited by heteronormative gender expression expectations. Each participant can wear what makes them most comfortable as long as it adheres to the general idea of formal wear and should be elevated and creative in nature.
