Discounted Transit Fares Pilot Program

For over a year the Fair Fares Coalition has called for a zero-fare transit program for low-income households to ensure freedom of movement, economic opportunity, and investment in underserved areas while strengthening the county’s transit system as a whole.
In September 2022, Allegheny County Dept. of Human Services announced that they will be inviting SNAP recipients in the county to participate in a project to demonstrate the positive impact of reduced or no-cost public transit fares.
If you or a household member are a SNAP recipient in Allegheny County, sign up to learn more about the fare program and support efforts to win a long-term fare relief program for SNAP households.
