As you may know, Mid Suffolk Green Party are aiming to take control of Mid Suffolk District Council in the local elections this May - and make history as the first ever Green Party majority run council in the UK!

To support this, we need to find a few more candidates who are prepared to stand for election in various areas across Mid Suffolk.

We need candidates to stand in target wards. The more candidates we stand, the better:

• -This will help to make Mid Suffolk Green Party seem like a more credible option compared to the Conservative Party who continue to fail Suffolk.
• -The more candidates we stand across the country, the more credibility we will have as a national party and the more media coverage that we will be afforded.
• -With more candidates, our national vote share will be higher which puts pressure on the other political parties to start enacting policy to fight climate change and promote social justice.

Target wards  are areas where our candidates have done well in the past and we will be actively campaigning to win the seat. If elected you become a councillor and represent your area on the council. There is a time commitment involved (roughly equivalent to a part-time job) but you would also receive an allowance of around £6000 per year, plus travel and childcare expenses.
