RESTORE H-2A FARMWORKER WAGES!
While farmworkers labor in the fields to put food on our tables, and the nation was focused on the election, the Trump administration quietly rolled out a new policy that will take $170 million in wages away from farmworkers every year.
The U.S. Department of Labor issued a final rule on November 5 that changes how the minimum wage is calculated for farmworkers working in the U.S. under the H-2A seasonal agricultural worker program. This rule will freeze these farmworkers' pay at current levels for the next three years, then use a new method for calculating wage increases that will result in slower wage growth.
Farmworkers deserve a pay increase, not a pay cut. They already struggle to make ends meet and feed their own families, even though their labor feeds ours.
Join us in calling on President-Elect Joe Biden to make reversal of this policy a top priority for the Labor Department on Day One of his administration.
