Attend the Arapahoe County Hearing on Additional Oil & Gas Development | July 23, 2024

While the state considers the Lowry Ranch Comprehensive Area Plan, which would permit Civitas to operate more than 160 wells around the Aurora Reservoir, additional companies have applied for oil and gas permits in the same area.

  • GMT Exploration applied for a new 20-well hydraulic fracturing pad named “Secret Stash” near Civitas’s proposed Beaver well pad.

  • This would bring the grand total to more than 180 hydraulic fracturing wells in the area around the Aurora Reservoir.

  • Additionally, Tenderfoot Pipeline Company has requested a new five-mile pipeline that would carry oil and gas from the proposed Secret Stash wells east.

Save The Aurora Reservoir leaders plan to make public comments against the pipeline in person at the Arapahoe Board of County Commissioners hearing (details below). While we’re there, we’ll be sure to remind the County Commissioners of our petition demanding full public hearings for all oil and gas well pad applications within this area. Join us to remind our elected representatives of their responsibility to residents and constituents!
