Reconnecting Our Community: Increasing Wellness Through Mental Health First Response

We’re excited to invite you to the relaunch of the Mental Health First (MH1) Community Training. This is a dynamic, interactive training designed to equip community members with the tools and confidence to respond to mental health crises in real time. This relaunch focuses on bridging the gap between youth and adults, building understanding, trust, and shared responsibility across generations.


Training Date: Friday, Aug 15 and Saturday, Aug 16 2025

Time: 1st Day 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 2nd Day 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Location: A Zoom Link will be forwarded after registration has been confirmed.


Who should attend:

  • Youth (ages 15–24)
  • Adults (ages 25+)
  • Parents, caregivers, educators, mentors, and anyone committed to supporting wellness in our community

What you’ll gain:

  • Tools to recognize and respond to mental health crisis
  • Skills for supporting loved ones without relying on police intervention
  • Connection to The People's House and Clinic, Alternatives Groups, local healing resources, and community care networks.

Our Ask:

  • We are looking for interested community members to be in support of taking shifts on our crisis line.
  • We are looking to build community and safe spaces for affected families and community members affected by State Violence.
  • We are looking for community organizations to join us in these efforts.

The estimated value of this training is $250. However, we offer this training at a discounted rate as stated below. For folks who will be supporting the relaunch of the MH1 Call line and taking shifts, this training is free. For broader community we ask for a sliding scale donation if possible, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

For community organizations, healthcare and mental health workers: $180 - $250

Community members: $0 - $120

MH1 Shift Supporters or economic hardship: FREE
