Saving Lives Is Not Terrorism - Graduation Day (July 30th)
🗓️ On July 30th, we’re holding a Graduation Day celebration!
For almost a year now we've been getting arrested under the UK Terrorism Act in our thousands for holding paper signs calling on the UK government to reverse their unjust ban on Palestine Action. 1,500 people received letters stating that a hearing relating to their prosecution would take place on July 30th at Westminster Magistrates Court. Most were told not to attend, but made it clear that they planned to attend anyway, they're being accused of "terrorism" after all!
Now, it is looking likely that these hearings will be postponed to later in the year. But that won’t stop us all from being defiant, turning a place now recognised as a political space for repression into a place for celebrating our amazing community and honouring everyone’s contributions!
📍Join us from 12pm on Thursday July 30th outside Westminster Magistrates Court (London NW1 5BR).
Please let us know you’ll be coming by signing the form on this page. We will send further details as they are arranged.
❤️ All arrestees and supporters are welcome! We encourage you to wear red clothing (optional).
✅ Also - we are considering opportunities for ESCALATION in our nonviolent civil disobedience. Check the box in this form if you’re interested in hearing more!
Please note that all of our actions and events carry risk of arrest and potential legal consequences, but there’s no reason to suspect that simply attending our Graduation Day event is a crime. Legal briefings and ongoing support are offered by Defend Our Juries. We will provide information on risks via a series of Open Briefing Calls.
