Say no to a new car park in city centre

A Question Mark in front of Exeter's Old Bus Station, now demolished.

Do you want to see a new car park built in the city centre?

Exeter City Council want to build a new car park on the site of the old bus station, behind the St Sidwell’s Point pool and leisure centre. Add your voice to a campaign to stop this happening and share your ideas on alterative, positive uses for this important city centre site. Your details will not be shared with anyone.

Do we really need another car park in Exeter, like the existing car park opposite the site?

Why is a new car park a bad idea?

  • The city centre has plenty of parking spaces available already

  • Another car park flies in the face of Council promises to reduce carbon emissions, encourage active travel and reduce air pollution

  • The site offers a once in a generation opportunity to transform the city centre with facilities and spaces that are social, environmentally and economically beneficial - sacrificing this for a car park is completely unacceptable

We want to hear from you on what you think should go here instead. Perhaps an indoor market, showcasing Devon's amazing produce and providing local small businesses a space to set up shop? Or perhaps the space could be used for an urban park, a green space everyone in the city can enjoy? Add your ideas in the box to the right of this text.
