Share your story for policy change

We believe it's critical that the needs and experiences of student survivors be at the center of any policy designed to combat campus violence. While many Know Your IX organizers are survivors of gender-based violence, we know that our experiences aren't representative of everyone's. With that in mind, we are asking survivors and student organizers to share their experiences with violence, campus organizing, mistreatment by schools and other institutions, or any other topic you believe would be helpful to share with policymakers. We will use these stories in our advocacy to improve local, state, and federal law and policy.

We understand that your submission may be intensely personal, and want to make sure that you feel strong and in control of what you share. With that in mind:

  • Only Know Your IX will have access to the submissions bank.
  • Tell us how you feel comfortable with your story being used. Please check the corresponding boxes or submit an additional comment with particular requests (e.g., that a pseudonym be used in place of your real name, or that your story not be connected to your school in order to provide you an extra layer of confidentiality and anonymity).
  • One last note: Our service requires certain information to submit forms. If you do not want to give that information, simply submit "null" for the question. Our form's submit field can only read "Add Your Name." When you click that button, you will only provide the information you have shared within the forms. The information will only be visible to three Know Your IX organizers.
