On March 29, 2021, Rep. Matt Gaetz confirmed on Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s show that he is under federal investigation and potentially facing charges for trafficking a child he may have had relations with. Not only is this news deeply horrifying and disturbing, but it is also connected to another Florida official, Joel Greenberg, who reportedly defrauded the public, stole taxpayer money and identities, and has been indicted for trafficking a child.

Rep. Gaetz is truly unfit for public office. He has repeatedly backed up Trump’s racist, xenophobic political agenda since he entered Congress in 2017 and now is being investigated for further abuse, this time of a minor.

We cannot allow politicians like Gaetz to live free of consequences for consistently targeting Black, brown, and Indigenous communities and now, minors.

This the last straw. He must resign from office and face public accountability for his actions.
