Donald Trump released his “official” stance on abortion, and it’s as riddled with misdirection, calculated omissions, and outright lies as you’d expect.

Trump states abortion law should be left to the states. However, he also says that the states should “do the right thing”–as in, restrict abortion access. Trump additionally took the opportunity to claim he was “proudly the person responsible” for overturning Roe v. Wade. Further, in the past, Trump has called for a national 16-week ban, and in his recent statement he did not walk that back.

It has become clear to Trump and his campaign that abortion is a winning issue for Democrats and a major problem for Republicans. Time and again, abortion wins–it has won every ballot it has been on since Roe was overturned. Further, we, the people, have not forgotten that it was Trump and his party that restricted our freedom in the first place.

Trump is attempting to placate the public to get votes, but we’re not falling for it. We believe that Trump will ban abortion nationally if he wins the election. This man is a pathological liar, and we are not falling for his continued lies as we fight for full reproductive access for every American.
