Trump has a long history of racist fear-mongering and weaponizing hate, inciting violence against people who dare question him, especially against women and people of color.

Last week’s violent, attempted coup―incited by this impeached president―was the build-up of years of his inflammatory rhetoric, enabled by the Republican Party and Trump’s sycophants in Congress. Every day Trump remains in office is a threat to our democracy, our national security, and the safety and security of our communities.

Trump organized the rally that resulted in the violent insurrection. And he called on his supporters to march to the U.S. Capitol, “fight much harder,” and “show strength.” He jeopardized the lives of Capitol Police, resulting in the death of one police officer and four insurgents, while jeopardizing the lives of many more, including members of Congress, the Vice President, and the Vice President’s family.
