Sign On To Our Apple World Trade Center Union Vision Statement!

We are the Genius Bar technicians, Product Zone specialists, Backstage runners, Business Team consultants, and Forum creatives of Apple World Trade Center.

We are the embodiment of Apple’s professed social and environmental values and we stand united against racism, sexism, and homophobia.

Together we represent the diversity, talent, and vibrancy of the store. By forming this Apple Retail Union we aim to collectively bargain for what we all need, in our best interests, from a position of strength.

We want a fair wage that is appropriate for living in one of the toughest and most expensive cities in the world. For too long we have been nickel-and-dimed by the richest corporation on the planet, while the executives amass wealth on the backs of our labor. To put it in perspective, the revenue Apple reported for all its retail stores in 2019 was 40.7% of the company’s total direct revenue and the estimated revenue per employee averages $609,461. Profits keep soaring but our wages do not reflect our hard work.

In addition to higher pay and better benefits, we demand a safe work environment, fair treatment, and dignity in the workplace. We need:

  • Fair Compensation: Reduce the 1,447:1 CEO to worker pay ratio. Close the gender pay gap. Transparency around pay inequality, yearly compensation assessments for cost of living adjustments, and real living wages for all employees. A real work/life balance instead of inflexible work schedules that include frequent “clopens.” A four-day workweek option. Profit sharing models including quarterly and holiday bonuses.
  • Career Development: Protected, regularly scheduled training and coaching time for current roles. Make internal promotion the primary method for filling open positions. Establish clear and achievable career advancement paths. Employee oversight when hiring for senior-level store positions.
  • Corporate-Retail Parity: Equitable RSU allocation with shorter vesting periods. Store-level input on decisions made by Apple Corporate that impact Apple Retail.
  • Inclusion and Equity: Establish a concrete and actionable program committed to diversifying store leadership through inclusion and promotion of BIPOC, LGBTQ, and colleagues with disabilities. Reward multilingual employees monetarily for their leveraged contributions that are taken for granted.
  • Health & Well-being: Establish in-house concierge to expedite the byzantine Sedgwick process in order to safeguard mental health, family obligations, and required leaves of absence. Paid part-time family leave of absence/mental health leave. Increased sick-time accrual. Paid family care.
  • Respect & Dignity: Peer input and participation concerning team hires and promotion. Ability to challenge and remove NPS comments. Respect, recognition, and reward for long-standing employees who have contributed to the prosperity of Apple for years.
  • Safety: Proactive COVID-19 health and safety protocols. 3M KN95 masks for all and continuing care for workers with Long COVID and other work-induced illness.
  • Ideals: An influential role in decision-making to ensure our daily operations match Apple’s publicly stated values. Flexibility for civic participation and opportunities for paid volunteer work.
Apple hired us for our creativity and intelligence, our experiences, and our ability to learn and to grow. As we bring life to Apple World Trade Center every day, we repair relationships with the customers that directly support the continued growth of this company. We love Apple, but it is now up to Cupertino to repair its relationship with all retail employees around the world.

We are founding this union to advocate for ourselves, our colleagues, and those who have yet to join us.

Individually, we are multidimensional. Collectively, we are powerful beyond measure.
