During the pandemic, 300,000 Minnesotans lost their jobs.

That means 1 out of 10 Minnesotans are out of work. These are our neighbors, friends and family members. Being out of work puts their families at risk and hurts the economy for all of us.

Our elected officials have expanded who is eligible for unemployment insurance but only 25% of the workers who are eligible are actually getting those benefits. We have found that if workers hear from someone they know, they are more likely to apply for UI and those are resources that our community needs now more than ever. In fact, for every dollar paid to recipients of unemployment benefits increases economic activity by 62%.
