The Get Well Soon Card to Ruth Bader Ginsburg Reads:

“We are thinking about you and wishing you a speedy recovery. Please get well soon!”

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg just announced that she is undergoing chemotherapy to treat a recurrence of cancer. That follows the news earlier this week that she had just undergone an unrelated endoscopic procedure.

Since taking the oath of office nearly 30 years ago, Ginsburg has been a strong and consistent voice for justice, women’s rights, civil rights and more.

In her statement Friday, Ginsburg wrote “I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam. I remain fully able to do that.”

While that is a huge relief, the prospect of Ruth Bader Ginsburg needing to retire in the near future for health reasons is terrifying. Despite refusing to even hold hearings on Pres. Barack Obama’s 2016 nominee Merrick Garland, Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell has indicated he would quickly confirm any justice nominated by Donald Trump during an election year, should the opportunity arise.

For many Americans – including those of us at The Juggernaut Project – Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a hero.
