[SIGN] Senate: Pass the Respect for Marriage Act to protect same-sex and interracial marriage.

Add your name to U.S. Senate Candidate Cheri Beasley's (D-NC) petition: Tell the Senate to pass the Respect for Marriage Act to protect same-sex and interracial marriage. With our rights at risk, we owe it to families to defend their freedom to marry the person they love.

The House of Representatives recently passed the Respect for Marriage Act by a large bipartisan majority.

The law would create federal protections for same-sex and interracial marriage, and Cheri Beasley is calling on the U.S. Senate to take this bill up for a vote and pass it quickly.

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe, one of the opinions suggested that they should overturn same-sex marriage next.

This politicized Supreme Court majority and Washington Republicans are taking aim at our constitutional rights. That’s why this action is so urgent.

Despite the bipartisan vote in the House, our opponent, Rep. Ted Budd, voted against this bill. He does not believe same-sex and interracial couples deserve protection — making clear once again that he is too extreme for North Carolina.

But that’s why we cannot take these rights for granted. The Senate must move swiftly to enshrine these fundamental freedoms into law.

Cheri is a former judge who has spent over two decades protecting our rights, and she will never hesitate to stand up for equality and justice for all. She knows we all should have equal protection under the law — no matter what.
