Officer Fanone and Sgt. Gonell were police officers who were seriously injured while defending the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. Since that day, they have worked tirelessly to share their stories in an effort to shed light on the violent assault on our democracy and prevent it from ever happening again.

As pro-democracy partners, supporters, and members of the Courage for America team, we are writing to thank you for your patriotism and courage in standing up for our democracy. We thank you not only for protecting our democracy on January 6th, 2021, but for subsequently using your platforms to share your stories and stand up to the extremism that led to that horrific day.

Though it may be hard to see at times, please know that you are informing and inspiring millions of Americans. You are making a difference.

As we near the 2024 election in November and election certification in January, we are committed to working alongside you to fight for our democratic ideals and put an end to political violence.
