With the overturning of Roe v. Wade, many states are enacting abortion bans and criminalizing healthcare – threatening jail time to doctors for providing abortion and other forms of medical care, like gender-affirming care for trans youth.

It is increasingly clear that local leaders like district attorneys and city councilors are our last line of defense in these attacks on our reproductive freedom as it will come down to them if and how to enforce healthcare criminalization.
