During the 2022 election, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy openly admitted that should the GOP take control of the House, Social Security and Medicare would be on the chopping block. And from Sen. Lindsey Graham to Sen. Ron Johnson to Sen. Rick Scott, plenty of GOP electeds have plans for dismantling other social programs as well.

In order to do that, Republicans plan to use upcoming deadlines to raise the debt ceiling (sometime in mid-2023) and fund the government (September 30, 2023) to make massive cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other domestic spending.

Aren't you sick of hostage taking and hostile threats from elected officials? Republicans threatening to default on the nation's debts and/or shut down the government unless they are able to slash funding for poor people and cut off our earned benefits is just plain sociopathic bullshit.
