Every American deserves equal participation in our political process. Voters from one state or county shouldn't enjoy more political power than voters from another state or county. Voters should have access to the ballot without fear of harassment, intimidation, or interference.

The fact is, we can only be sure of the integrity of our democracy when we remove unnecessary barriers to voting so that our electorate can best mirror society and give our elections more legitimacy.

Equal access to vote is the cornerstone of a healthy democracy. As a nation, we take pride that each person's vote counts equally, no matter how privileged or disadvantaged. Our voting laws should reflect this fundamental belief with secure and efficient options for voters and equitable access to the polls.

We're calling on our state leaders to protect our essential freedom to vote instead of creating more obstacles, and also to end unfair practices like gerrymandering that silence entire communities in order to lock in permanent partisan advantages.
