After illegally attacking Iran and Lebanon at the beginning of March, Israel’s military has killed more than 3,000 Lebanese people and forcibly displaced (ethnically cleansed) more than 1 million Lebanese people.

Since mid-April’s so-called “ceasefire” was announced, Israeli forces have violated it every day—committing war crimes such as bombing hospitals and ambulances and systematically murdering more than 100 medics.

The U.S. government is assisting this genocidal destruction through closely coordinating with Israel’s military, including providing weapons, intelligence, logistics, and diplomatic cover that enables Israeli leaders to violate international law with impunity.  

By engaging in war without Congressional approval, the Trump administration is also violating the U.S. Constitution and the War Powers Act. Congress must assert its oversight authority as the only branch of government that can authorize and declare war.

To prohibit U.S. assistance and participation in the Israeli military’s illegal and genocidal war on Lebanon, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib recently introduced a Lebanon War Powers Resolution in the House of Representatives.

She's forcing a vote on the resolution on Thursday, June 4.
