Here at Action for Public Housing, we’re made up of ordinary people who are tired of a greedy minority dominating the housing debate.

Are you tired?

Bloody tired of politicians kow-towing to a handful of pathetic property investors so wrapped up in housing prices going up, rents going up, and the right to evict single mums and elderly women into the street that they’ve become out of touch with ordinary people.

This is a disgusting shame and must end, one way or another.

But to get there quicker, the more people that speak up for ordinary people, the faster it will be.

We need public housing, we need an end to its privatisation and a massive revitalisation of the housing stock to get housing affordable again and end this madness.

Politicians, who we elect, need to start listening. Actually listening.

Listening to the mortgagee, the renter, the parent, the grandparent all being hit hard by the greed of the loud and “scary” few.

But they forget that we live in a democracy, an Australian democracy. With a history of winning housing as a right for ordinary Australians.

And sooner or later, we’ll do it again.

If you want to do your little bit, write to your local member, local, state and federal. Make them remember that you are the community that they’re meant to represent.

Let people around you know about how sick and tired you are of these weird landlords dominating the conversation for no real reason.

But most of all.

Remember your power.

And that you’re not alone. In solidarity,

Action for Public Housing
