The Power of the Administrator: Bully Prevention Webinar
Tuesday, March 21 2:00pm EST
A passionate advocate for bully prevention and 18-year-old American recording artist, Lizzie Sider, together with AFSA Vice President, Lauran Cherry, will host a webinar followed by a Q&A on how administrators can help create a climate to reduce bullying.
Learn insights on how you can make an impact in your school from a young victim who personally experienced bullying in elementary school:
- The importance of a positive school culture
- Ways to be the example for everyone in your school
- Establishing mutual respect
- Making everyone feel a part of your team
" Your work is so important, and it’s not to be underestimated. As administrators, you set the bar for everyone in your school community with regard to how to act, how to speak, how to regard others and how to lead. Help everyone become the best of themselves. Be the change you want to see in your corner of the world, and inspire others to do the same" - Lizzie Sider
Sider is a spokesperson for multiple organizations such as GWEN (Global Women’s Empowerment Network) and PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. In the last few years, she has personally visited more than 350 elementary and middle schools nationwide, performing her original bully prevention assembly that combines her personal story of being bullied with positivity, encouragement and music. Sider and her prevention work were recently featured on Fox News national TV.
Her newest project, a free Bully Prevention Video Package, is ever-growing in popularity and as of January 2017, is being used in 3,300 schools, representing over two million children worldwide. Learn more at http://www.nobodyhasthepowertoruinyourday.org/
