The Voting Rights Act ended Jim Crow at the ballot box and protected the promise of fair and equal elections. On April 29, 2026, the Supreme Court gutted this core American freedom. This is the latest and most egregious example of the rich and shameless rigging systems so they can ensure one party rule, not by winning more votes, but by manipulating maps and passing voter suppression laws.
With Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act being struck down, racially discriminatory maps could spread far and wide. Every level of government – from Congress to school boards – could redraw districts to silence Black communities. This effort to silence Black voters – or anyone who disagrees with the ruling party – will become the norm.
The Voting Rights Act ended Jim Crow. And now, they are attacking Black political power as a front to seize illegitimate control over everyone.
This is what government corruption looks like — rigging the system to keep decision-making reserved for the wealthy, out-of-touch, and already powerful.
But Mississippi won’t go quietly.
That’s why we’re asking you to join us on May 20, 2026 for a day of action as we show Gov. Reeves and his power-hungry, elite allies in Washington that we demand fair representation. We demand leadership willing to confront and solve the problems of everyday Mississippians.
This threat to erase our rights, to erase our representation and to keep the power for the few? It isn't going away. And that's why we're organizing now.
