South London Listens
South London Listens is a joint initiative to prevent people becoming mentally unwell as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Join your community by registering today for our ground-breaking South London Listens June Summit on Wednesday 16th June from 6-8pm. We will hear asks from the community and responses from decision makers in the NHS and local government, who all together will start to make change happen.
Through the South London Listens campaign, we have connected with over 6000 people across South London. Covid-19 has impacted the mental wellbeing of many people, whether through the virus itself, the impact on jobs and the economy or the tragedy of losing a loved one and now we must work together to protect and support each other.
On Wednesday 16th June from 6-8pm we shall host an online event where the outcomes of this process and exciting next steps will all be revealed by leaders from communities across South London. Join us in demonstrating the full power and resilience of South London by attending the event.
Citizens UK has worked with local community groups, mental health trusts and local authorities to reach out and listen to communities in the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.
Through our local community groups we have engaged local citizens, the local health trusts and the local authority in developing a set of meaningful, desirable and viable actions that can be delivered by community partners and local public institutions to protect and support the mental health of South London communities during and beyond the Covid-19 pandemic.
6000 South Londoners have already got involved and taken part in listening events in their neighbourhoods, schools, faith groups and community groups. This is our chance make sure change happens.
