SPREAD THE WORD: Working people in Arizona need affordable housing!
For renters and homeowners, housing costs in Arizona have skyrocketed. The average home in Phoenix is 53% more expensive now than it was in 2019 - with rising interest rates on top of that, buying a home costs twice as much as it did six years ago. Right now, the average Arizonan spends 33% of their income on housing, making them cost-burdened (as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development).
It’s time to let our friends and neighbors know how they can get a better deal. To learn about a down payment assistance program for homebuyers and other housing cost assistance programs, sign this pledge, and Working America will follow up with additional information by email.
Working families in Arizona need lower costs, so that we can stop this trend before even more of us are cost-burdened.
