Stand with Steelworkers at Unifrax!

Members of USW Local 2058 at Unifrax in Tonawanda, NY, are facing a tough fight against corporate greed in their contract negotiations.
During this pandemic, they have stepped up and continued working, risking their lives and family’s safety to make sure the company kept growing and making profits, while management stayed safe at home.
In exchange for their dedication and hard work, Unifrax is taking advantage of this unprecedented crisis, using their need to have affordable quality health insurance to manipulate them into taking an unfair deal.
Our members have expressed to the company that they are open to reaching an agreement that is fair for both sides.
Instead, the company chose to cut the bargaining process short, and reiterated at the bargaining table that they are just not willing to pay them what they deserve.
That is unfair and disrespectful to our members dedication and hard work. Our members deserve a contract that provides them and their families a decent quality of life.
For years, Unifrax has benefited from government subsidies, tax rebates and exemptions. Instead of giving back to the community, the company has cut their permanent workers while filling up positions with temporary employees that have lower salaries and zero benefits.
The company benefited from taxpayers’ money and yet wants to attack good, union jobs.
Workers are the motor that make our community thrive. Our community deserves good paying jobs and our workers deserve respect.
Add your name to pledge your solidarity with USW Local 2058 workers who are fighting for fairness and good jobs at Unifrax, while building the foundation for future jobs in our community.
Help us tell Unifrax the time to bargain in good faith is NOW!
