Still, Stacey won more votes at the statewide level than any other Democrat in Georgia’s history and became the first Black woman to win a gubernatorial nomination for a major party in the United States.
Since then, Stacey has fought hard for voting rights, galvanizing voters across the country and pushing for fairer elections in the courts, state legislatures, and Congress.
