Stop the Noise from St. Louis Police Firing Range

Stop the Noise from St. Louis Police Shooting Range:

Join us in demanding immediate action to end noise from the constant gunfire from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department firing range.

What’s happening?

The SLMPD has drastically increased activity at its outdoor firing range near Interstate 55 and Gasconade. From as early as 7:00 am to as late as 9 PM, many neighborhoods across South St. Louis are flooded with constant, explosive gunfire.

Why it matters:

Prolonged exposure to the noise of gunfire contributes to stress, anxiety, PTSD, and sleep disruption. In a neighborhood already dealing with gun violence at night, this constant gunfire only compounds the trauma and deepens the psychological harm.

What needs to happen:

  • Soundproof or relocate the range

  • Ban outdoor firing ranges in St. Louis.

  • Publish a clear, enforceable timeline for noise reduction

Key Targets for Change:

  • State Board of Police Commissioners

  • Mayor Cara Spencer

  • St. Louis Board of Aldermen
