Strike Ready for Seattle Children's Nurses!
On December 22, the 2,100 members of the Washington State Nurses Association at Seattle Children's Hospital voted to authorize a strike. This would be the first strike in the bargaining unit's history.
The employer has been stonewalling the union in negotiations, refusing to budge on issues like patient safety, below-market wages, and an end to the union-busting campaign they've embarked on with Trump Administration darlings Morgan Lewis. In addition, the nurses have steadfastly opposed their employer's decision to comply in advance with the Trump Administration's anti-trans agenda, blocking or stalling gender-affirming care on their own initiative despite outcry by the local community.
