Support the Adjunct Faculty Loan Fairness Act of 2015
Did you know that at least 75 percent of U.S. professors are adjunct? Just like their full-time colleagues, these professors are shaping the minds of the nation’s future teachers, scientists and leaders—but because of their job status they face enormous obstacles in that work.
Many of these professors don’t have offices on their campuses, office hours for students, and have to travel between multiple colleges and campuses each day. All while working for low wages and carrying crippling student debt with no hope of help. It is time to ensure everyone working to provide students with a quality education can do so without going into bankruptcy.
Sen. Richard Durbin [D-IL] recently introduced the Adjunct Faculty Loan Fairness Act of 2015, a bill that would allow these adjuncts to access the Public Loan Forgiveness Program, just like their full-time colleagues.
Stand with Sen. Durbin and help these adjunct professors get the relief they deserve so they can focus on what’s really important—educating young minds everywhere.
