Insane as it sounds, the Australian Government is about to deport 267 people seeking asylum to Nauru and Manus Island - prison camps described as "factories for producing mental illness" by psychiatrist and former Australian of the Year, Professor Pat McGorry. Among them are 72 kids, including 38 babies born here in Australia. 

But if enough Australians rise up and demand we 'let them stay', we can turn this into a political crisis the government can't afford right now. That's where you come in.

Who is Love Makes a Way?

Love Makes a Way is a national movement of Christians, including many church leaders, who are putting nonviolent love in action in defence of people seeking asylum. We are best known for holding nearly 30 peaceful and prayerful sit-ins at the offices of Government and Opposition politicians, with most people engaging in civil disobedience by refusing to leave when directed, in order to dramatise the injustices faced by people seeking asylum and draw attention to their cause. Since March 2014, over 250 people have risked arrest, including over 70 priests, nuns and pastors - the most dramatic uprising of religious activism in recent Australian history.
