Tell Congress: End the detention and deportation of DACA recipients and pass permanent protections!
Maria de Jesus Estrada Juarez, a DACA recipient and mother, was wrongfully deported after attending a green card interview in February. A federal judge ruled her deportation a "flagrant violation" of DACA, and she has now safely returned to the U.S. to reunite with her daughter.
But Maria's story is one of hundreds. In recent months, nearly 300 DACA recipients have been detained, and close to 90 have been deported, that we know of. DACA recipients with valid status are being targeted, detained, and torn from their families by immigration agents.
We have a right to feel safe in our communities. Every DACA recipient needs safety, protection, and due process.
Congress needs to take immediate action to end the detention and deportation of DACA recipients and deliver long-overdue permanent protections through legislation like the Dream Act.
