Tell Congress: Let the Trump tax cuts for corporations expire and raise the corporate tax rate

As we celebrate our nation's independence this 4th of July, it's time to demand that U.S. corporations demonstrate true patriotism by paying their fair share in taxes.

Our research shows that in 2023, the 100 largest U.S. corporations amassed over $1 trillion in profits while simultaneously slashing 55,000 jobs and barely raising wages above inflation.

This blatant disregard for American workers is a direct result of the 2017 Trump-GOP tax scam, which slashed the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%―the lowest in 80 years.

Unsurprisingly, this massive tax cut has not trickled down to workers as Republicans proudly claimed it would. Instead, it has given corporations a windfall to enrich shareholders and CEOs at the expense of hardworking Americans. The law even encourages companies to move jobs offshore by taxing foreign profits at lower rates than domestic ones.

It's time for Congress to act. Let the Trump tax cuts for corporations expire and restore the corporate tax rate to at least 28%.

By raising the corporate tax rate, we could generate $1.3 trillion over 10 years to invest in our communities, our infrastructure, and our people. It's time for corporations to contribute their fair share to the country that made their success possible.

This 4th of July, as we reflect on the principles of liberty and justice that our nation was built upon, let's declare our independence from corporate greed.

Help make sure the promise of America extends to all its citizens, not corporate shareholders. Add your name to tell Congress to let the Trump tax cuts for corporations expire and raise the corporate tax rate.
